Dear Residents of Madison County, Alabama,
I trust this message finds you in good health. It is with genuine enthusiasm that I officially declare my candidacy for the Madison County Commission, District 6. Proudly representing the Libertarian Party, I am deeply committed to championing individual liberties, limited government, and the principles of a free-market economy. My aim is to usher in positive change and secure the prosperity of our community.
As the Primary Election approaches on March 5, 2024, I am eager to embark on this journey to serve the residents of Madison County. Through this campaign, I intend to engage in meaningful discussions, attentively listen to your concerns, and present innovative solutions that prioritize personal freedoms, fiscal responsibility, and the safeguarding of individual rights.
Madison County holds a special place in my heart, and I steadfastly believe in the principles that render our community distinctive. As a candidate, my priorities will encompass:
Lack of Representation: District 6 has endured disparate treatment compared to other areas of Madison County. I will not tolerate the ongoing unequal treatment of my district. The prevailing two-party system often sidelines alternative viewpoints, resulting in diminished representation for diverse perspectives. This can leave certain segments of the population feeling unheard or underrepresented in the political process.
Excessive Force of Police: I stand for the free expression of everyone, irrespective of their beliefs. Madison County has unfortunately become a hotspot for police force excess. In 2020, we witnessed the forceful suppression of peaceful protesters. It is evident that both Republicans and Democrats have, at times, shown a penchant for what they term “cancel culture.”
Massive Budget Growth: Every additional dime spent translates to an inflation tax affecting your grocery bills. Madison County has witnessed a staggering budget growth of over 125% since the “fiscally conservative” Republicans assumed control in 2010. We must put an end to this escalating expenditure and cease the practice of rewarding corporations for crony favors.
Incentive Transparency: There is a glaring lack of transparency in Madison County and Huntsville City government regarding the allocation of tax funds to businesses for so-called “economic development.” We must discontinue the practice of doling out money to politically connected companies.
I am confident that my experience, values, and unwavering dedication make me the right candidate to lead our community toward a brighter future. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to earn your support and collaborate in achieving our shared vision.
